Does my air con need recharging?
Manufacturers recommend that your air con is recharged every 2 years. As your car or van air conditioner is not checked as part of your MOT test and regassing is not typically included in your Service, it is important to make sure that you include recharging as part of your regular vehicle maintenance routine.
If your AC is blowing out warm air or only works intermittently, an AC recharge can bring back cold air when you need it most on hot days and can also improve your fuel efficiency as there is less strain on the system and engine. Unpleasant smells coming from the air vents also suggest that your air con needs some attention
Due to its dehumidifying properties, when operating fully efficiently, your air conditioning system will also de-mist your windscreen more rapidly in cold weather. Our fully trained technicians will take a temperature reading from your air conditioning system; remove all the old refrigerant gas, oil and dye. They then clean the whole system and remove any moisture within. Once the system has been thoroughly cleansed our technicians will inject new oil, dye and refrigerant gas and take a temperature reading again to ensure that the Re-Gas has made a difference to the cold air temperature. This process will ensure that your air conditioning system is working to its full potential. However, if our technicians find that the Re-Gas has had no impact on the air conditioning temperature then you will not be charged for this service.
